All About My Subjects

  1. What are we going to study? About the life of animals and plants.
  2. What is an environment?Does the earth have different environments? Yes.
  3. What are there in the hot parts of the world? Damp forests, sandy deserts and dry deserts.
  4. What are there in the cooler areas? different kinds of forests and grasslands.
  5. How are the polar regions? Extremely cold.
  6. How are the areas near the sea? Warm and humid.
  7. What are called habitats? The places where animals live in.
  8. What is special in these habitats? The temperature and the humidity are different. so also the food and the water.
  9. What is adaptation? The animals and plants adjust themselves in their lives to live in such habitat.
  10. Write about Polar bear: 
  11. It lives near the extremely cold North Pole.
  12. What keeps it warm? His thick furry coat.
  13. What does it eat? fish and seals.
  14. Where do fish and seal live? in water.
  15. Is Polar bear a good swimmer? yes.
  16. Where is Arctic ocean? near the North Pole.
  17. How is the water there? extremely cold.
  18. Write about Seals: 
  19. Seals live in this habitat.
  20. How do they keep warm themselves?
  21. they have a thick layer of BLUBBER or fat.
  22. How does it help them? It acts as a good insulator to keep their bodies heat in.
  23. What are Cacti? they are plants.
  24. They live in very hot deserts.
  25. How do plants lose moisture from their leaves? due to heat in those places.
  26. Is water available in plenty in deserts? NO.
  27. Why do cacti have Spines? they have instead of leaves.
  28. How do the spines help the cacti? Very little moisture is lost.
  29. What happens when there are changes in the environment?
  30. It makes it difficult for the plants and animals to exist.
  31. When the river water gets polluted, fish die for want of oxygen or food.
  32. What happens if there is  a storm?
  33. Trees are uprooted. animals destroyed.
  34. What do the animals do? they find new homes where there is enough food and water.and the weather must suit them.
  35. Write about Dinosaurs.
  36. they were very big enormous animals.
  37. they lived on earth in prehistoric time.
  38. Why did they become extinct or die out?
  39. because they could not adapt to the changing conditions on earth.
  40. What are Herbivores? plant eating animals.
  41. What do they have? sharp teeth called incisors.
  42. How do incisors help? To cut up plants and leaves.
  43. What do they have also? the Molars.
  44. How do molars help them? to grind their food.
  45. How do rabbits and squirrels eat?they hold their food in the front paws and Nibble or Gnaw at them,
  46. What do they eat?
  47. nuts, leaves and vegetables. and also the food which they cut into small pieces with their incisors.
  48. What are Carnivores?
  49. they are meat eating animals.
  50. What do they have? they have sharp pointed Canine teeth.
  51. How does it help them? to tear flesh from their prey.
  52. What are Omnivores? these animals eat both plants and meat.
  53. What do they need?incisors, canines and molars.
